How to make a pet memorial card

  1. Add their photo and name.Move and zoom the photo so their face sits in the middle. Dates are optional.
  2. Choose words and a design.Write your own words or start from an idea. Keepsake, Rainbow Bridge, Starlight or Garden.
  3. Save all three. One design gives you a printable 5×7 card, a phone wallpaper and a photo to share.

Printing it, and setting it as your wallpaper

Printing the card

  • Print the PDF at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page, so it comes out exactly 5 by 7 inches.
  • Matte card stock (80 to 110 lb, or 216 to 300 gsm) or matte photo paper looks best. Glossy paper shows fingerprints in a frame.
  • Cut along the dotted line with a ruler and a craft knife. It fits a standard 5×7 frame.
  • At a print shop or photo kiosk, use the 5×7 photo (JPG): 1500 × 2100 pixels, a true 5×7 at 300 dpi.
  • The dark Starlight design uses a lot of home printer ink. A shop print gives the deepest blue.

Setting the wallpaper

iPhone

Save the Phone wallpaper and choose Save Image. Open Photos, choose the picture, tap Share, then Use as Wallpaper. The preview shows where the clock will sit, so their photo stays clear of it.

Android

Save it, open it in Gallery or Google Photos, tap the three dots, then Set as wallpaper, and choose Lock screen, Home screen or both.

Rainbow Bridge printable

The Rainbow Bridge is the old poem about a green meadow where the pets we lose wait for us, healthy and young again, until we cross over together.

To make a Rainbow Bridge card here, add their photo and name, choose the Rainbow Bridge design, then pick one of the Rainbow Bridge lines or write your own. Print it as a 5×7 card or keep it as a phone wallpaper.

Questions

Is the pet memorial card free?

Yes. Make and print as many cards and wallpapers as you like. There is no account and no email address to give.

Is my pet’s photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The card is drawn inside your own browser, so the photo stays on your phone or computer and nothing you type is saved. The only exception is if you choose to start a memorial song: then the photo goes with you into that, so you do not have to add it again.

Can I write my own words?

Yes. Type anything in Your words, up to 180 characters: a line, a short poem or what you would tell them now. The ideas are only a starting point, and you can change any word.

What size is the printable memorial card?

The card is 5 by 7 inches at 300 dpi. The PDF puts it on a Letter or A4 page with a dotted cut line, and the 5×7 photo download is 1500 by 2100 pixels, which photo print shops accept as a standard 5×7 print.

How do I print it at the right size?

Open the PDF and print at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page. Matte card stock or photo paper looks best. Cut along the dotted line and it fits a standard 5×7 frame.

How do I set it as my phone wallpaper?

Save the Phone wallpaper to your photos. On iPhone, open it in Photos, tap Share, then Use as Wallpaper. On Android, open it in Gallery or Google Photos, tap the menu, then Set as wallpaper.

Can I make a Rainbow Bridge memorial card?

Yes. Choose the Rainbow Bridge design and one of the Rainbow Bridge lines, or write your own words.

What if I don’t have a good photo?

The card works without one. A candle takes the photo's place, and the name and words stay the same. You can also move and zoom any photo to frame their face.

Can I put a poem on the card?

Yes, up to 180 characters in Your words. If you need words, the free pet memorial poem writer makes a poem and a short line sized for a card.

Can I hear their story as a song?

FureverSong writes and records a personal memorial song from your memories of your pet, with a memorial page your family can visit. You hear a preview free before you decide. See how it works.
